St. Patricks day

Christine G. from Non-med
In the attached photo you will find  a necklace with three pendants as well as two rings. The silver Claddagh ring was given to me by my Aunts, Uncles, cousins and Grandparents (on my father’s side) and the Blue Claddagh ring was given to me by my sisters. The Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) is a traditional Irish ring given which represents love, loyalty, and friendship (the hands represent friendship, the heart represents love, and the crown represents loyalty). When worn on the right hand but with the heart facing inward toward the body, this indicates the person wearing the ring is in a relationship, or that "someone has captured their heart". A Claddagh worn on the left hand ring finger facing outward away from the body generally indicates that the wearer is engaged. I wear both on the left hand simply due to the fact that they fit that one finger JThe necklace is a few items I have combined over the years. It never leaves my neck unless absolutely necessary. The chain was given to me by an old friend who is no longer with us, the Celtic cross was a gift from a family friend who gave a necklace to my sisters and I for St. Patrick’s day over 12 years ago. The Gold cross was given to me by a good friend when I graduated from High school. A bit of a back story :  I went to St. Patrick’s High school in Quebec City, our graduating class decided to have the traditional Catholic mass that was usually held before the graduation ceremony prior to religion being eliminated from the School’s  curriculum. My friend had purchased the cross and had it blessed by the priest that had held mass on that day. And finally the Key pendant was a prized possession of my Grandmother/ Godmother (on my Mother’s side) given to her when she was in her late 20’s, that was left to me after her  sudden passing.
As you may have noted family and friends are very important elements in my life, and I am constantly reminded of that by having these items with me.

Lisa M. from ClaimsI know they aren’t technically “prized possessions” but I am quite fond of them…and they fit well with the St.Patrick’s day theme…

Sara is my lucky charm, because I cannot function in my job without her. She’s always ready and willing to work with me and together we’re a good team. She’s positive and sees the bright side even when overwhelmed and it pushes me to do my best too. Val is my lucky charm as I cannot do healthplus without her. She is always so supportive and there to explain policy wording etc. She is always in a good mood which is very contagious!
